Episode: Spontaneous Connections

March 3, 2017 episode of Connections on WPKN with Eric Cocks. New and vintage music, with world premieres and rarities.

Includes new music by Bob Dylan, Ray Davies of The Kinks, Aimee Mann, Wesley Stace aka John Wesley Harding, Dirty Projectors, Gary Calamar, Peter Holsapple, Day Wave, The New Pornographers, BQWT, Jamiroquai, Spoon, John Girgus & The Legendary House Cats, Chaz Bundrick & The Mattson 2, Ten Fé and more.

Also world premieres from Emily Duff (who has a fantastic album Maybe In The Morning coming out soon), Josh Groban covering Alan Menken in a new song from Beauty and The Beast, a very rare demo by Alan Menken, plus three songs from The Adventurist, the brilliant new album by Cindy Lee Berryhill (with the legendary Syd Straw on background vocals). The album will be officially released next week on Omnivore Records and is highly recommended!!!

The show also has several songs by The Beatles and The Rolling Stones (in glorious mono, the way it was meant to be heard), Nick Lowe, Brian Eno, Mose Allison, Colin Blunstone of The Zombies, Buzzy Linhart (on his birthday), Bad Bad Not Good and an early 1970's song by Roger McGuinn where he essentially invents the sound of The Clash a couple of years before they existed!

Plus Mike Raphone of The Squeaky Chairs and whatever happened in the moment.

Thanks for tuning in!
