Episode: Connections with Special Guest Chris Frantz on Talking Heads and other music

Feb 16, 2018 episode of Connections on WPKN with Eric Cocks. Featuring my good friend and very special guest Chris Frantz of Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, going deep and telling inside stories on a great many songs from the live album The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads.

Plus... both of us celebrating Black History Month, playing music we both love, while also celebrating the independence of WPKN.

In addition to behind the scenes stories of writing, recording, producing and touring with Talking Heads, there are a great many laughs as we explore this very special period of time.

There's also music from Bob Marley & The Wailers, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Claudia Lennear (produced by Allen Toussaint), Prince, Nina Simone, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Larry Williams, Sly & The Family Stone, Fred Wesley & The J.B.'s, The Isley Brothers, Benny Spellman (produced by Allen Toussaint), Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Squeaky Chairs and whatever happened in the moment.

And some insight from the WPKN Space Time Continuum Department.

I'd also like to acknowledge Bo Diddley, Little Richard, Chuck Berry and many others who changed music and changed my life. And Muhammed Ali.

Couldn't fit everything in on this one show!

Btw, it's a low key fundraiser for the station. Great thanks to everybody who called in or donated online. And if you'd like to donate now, you can still donate online at wpkn.org or call in at 203-331-9756 during weekday business hours. tell 'em Eric and Chris sent you!
