2) Jafar Jafari, a reporter with Al-Mayadeen, a Beirut-based pan-Arab news channel, discusses the current situation in Syria where Israel has recently launched attacks inside Syrian territory, resulting in one of its F-16 jet fighters being shot down while engaging in a bombing run against an Iranian target.

3) Andrew Tillett-Saks, vice president of the Connecticut hospitality workers union, Unite Here Local 217 and a New York City based writer, talks about his recent article, "Stamford Workers Show How to Transform Our Unions and Rebuild the Labor Movement," and the movement working to revive the nation's weakening unions.

4) Nathan Schneider, Assistant Professor in Media Studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder, discusses his recent article, "A Populism of Hope Begins When People Feel Their Own Power," and issues related to his research on the history of U.S. progressive social movements.
