Melinda Tuhus is an independent journalist with 25 years' experience in print and radio, including In These Times, The New York Times, Free Speech Radio News and public radio outlets, and four years' experience reporting for on-line publications, including Women's eNews (www.womensenews.org <http://www.womensenews.org/> ) and the New Haven Independent (www.newhavenindependent.org <http://www.newhavenindependent.org> .) She has been a producer for Between the Lines for the past several years, as well as producer of her own monthly show on WPKN, “The Forest & the Trees: Global and Local Perspectives on the Environment.” Over the years she has developed a special interest in environmental coverage, women's issues, and criminal justice/prison issues. She is based in New Haven, Connecticut, and has won several state, regional and international awards for her work.
