  Sometimes Classical has been broadcast on WPKN since 1977. Richard has an unquenchable thirst for music and sounds that somehow relate no matter what their origin, genre, or sound source. Dentist by day, bassoonist by night, his stream of consciousness deals out the sounds of Mingus, Mahler, Laurie Anderson, Balkan brass bands, Pete Seeger, Phil Glass, Indian ragas, and cowpoke melodies like some eccentric game of aural solitaire. The classical, the fringes, and the unexpected, with some spicy interviews about music and performance.
