Episode: Sam Phillips on Creativity... (Interview Excerpt plus Sam's Christmas Song)

17 minute excerpt of a Dec 2010 Sam Phillips interview with Eric Cocks of Connections on WPKN. Sam talks about songwriting, and the story behind her terrific holiday song  "It Doesn't Feel Like Christmas".

After the song, Sam goes on to talk about creativity, longevity, beating the clock, what it means to be a pop star in today's music business (and why that doesn't matter)... all with great humor and perspective.

As Sam says, "During this time when the world is so tumultuous and the economy and all the news is very tough, I think it's important for us to do what we love... because that's the way through."

The entire interview can be heard at http://archives.wpkn.org/bookmarks/listen/14471

The interview and this excerpt will only remain in the WPKN archives through about January 2, 2012. Feel free to share... Maybe it'll pop up somewhere else someday.
