John Quigley, Professor of international and Comparative law at Ohio State University, is author of "The Statehood of Palestine: International Law in the Middle East Conflict," and The Case for Palestine: An International Law Perspective." He assesses the significance of the recent UN General Assembly vote recognizing Palestine as a nonmember observer state, and the possible benefits of this new status for the Palestinian Authority and the people it represents.

Alex Lawson, Executive Director of the group Social Security Works, talks about the current "fiscal cliff" negotiations and efforts to protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid from proposed cuts in benefits and/or a rise in the retirement eligibility age.

Kevin Gosztola a writer for Firedoglake.com, who regularly covers issues of government secrecy and co-author of the book, "Truth and Consequences: The US vs. Bradley Manning with The Nation's Greg Mitchell." He shares his observations and concerns about the trial of Pfc. Bradley Manning at Fort Meade, and the broader issues of "national security" vs. the protection of government whistle blowers.

David Swanson, Co-Founder of AfterDowningStreet.org, Washington Director of Democrats.com, a board member of Progressive Democrats of America, and author of "War Is A Lie" and "Daybreak: Undoing the Imperial Presidency and Forming a More Perfect Union." He discusses the growing movement opposing the U.S. drone program, including an examination of the Obama administration's kill lists and issuing pre-election rules/regulations governing targeted assassinations.
