1) Haitian Disaster Relief: Brian Concannon, Director of the Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti, and co-manager of the Bureau des Avocats Internationaux in Haiti since 1996. He assesses the humanitarian relief operation in Haiti, the long term project to rebuild the country and the obstacles that have plagued the impoverished nation's development over the last 200 years.
2) Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Special Report: Brian Miller, Executive Director of United for a Fair Economy, discusses his group's report, "The State of the Dream 2010 Drained: Jobless and Foreclosed; Pulling the Plug in Communities of Color," which tells the story of the Great Recession and the racial wealth gap that continues to persist in America.
3) U.S. Economic Crisis: Thomas Ferguson, professor of political science at the University of Massachusetts, Boston and author of "Golden Rule: The Investment Theory of Party Competition and the Logic of Money-Driven Political Systems" He assesses the work of the Congressionally appointed Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission and the goal of holding accountable the banks and Wall Street firms that triggered the economic meltdown.
4) Haitian Disaster Relief: Marie St. Cyr, board member of the international women’s human rights organization MADRE - and a longtime NYC-based Haitian human rights advocate talks about the most effective ways people in the U.S. can assist the survivors of the deadly Haitian earthquake.
