Episode: Sunday Brunch Concert
Today's show is a selection of music recorded on or near Independence Day.
1. Playing In The Band (09:43)
Grateful Dead – 7/2/88 – Oxford, ME
It wouldn't be the 4th of July without some good ol' Grateful Dead. While the Oxford shows were July 2nd and 3rd, they are fondly remembered by Deadheads as a Real Good Time.
2. Rebubula (09:01)
Moe. – 7/4/06 – Milwaukee, WI
Moe played Summerfest in 2006. This Rebubula was sandwiched between Buster and Water in the 2nd set, and was finished in the encore.
3. Peaches en Regalia > (03:14)
4. Pigmy Twylite > (08:50)
5. Peaches en Regalia (02:40)
The Breakfast – 7/4/09 – Toad's Place
The Breakfast tore it up with this pair of Zappa covers from last year's Toad's show.
6. Please (09:37)
Boombox – 7/4/2007 – Nelson Ledges Quarry Park
Boombox is more electronica that what you normally hear on the Brunch concert, but it's the project of Zion Godchaux.
7. Ruben and Cherise (08:46)
8. Pride of Cucamonga (07:30)
Furthur – 6/29/10 – Penn's Peak
If I had a time machine I would have gone forward a few hours and played some of Furthur's set from Nateva on 7/4/2010. As it stands, it's nice to hear a pair of songs rarely and never played by the Grateful Dead.
