Episode: Interview: Eric D. Lehman, author of Hamden: Tales from the Sleeping Giant and Bridgeport: Tales from the Park City

Eric Lehman, a professor of writing at the University of Bridgeport has written histories of two communities in southern Connecticut. Hamden, the home of Eli Whitney and A.C. Gilbert, has a long history of innovation and its civic-minded citizens saved the state's beloved Sleeping Giant from losing its head in the nineteenth century. Brideport has a similar history of innovation, and its most famous citizen, P.T. Barnum, brought excitement to the city by making it the base of operations for his circus, and he served the city as its mayor and by helping to develop many of its institutions.
