Episode: Digging in the Dirt with Rhonda Sherman - Vermicomposting

Recently I started Vermicomposting in my basement. That's right, I have 1000 worms (soon to be 6000), reducing our kitchen waste and the New York times into "Black Gold", WORM CRAP! All this shite is going back into my garden to grow even better tomato's this year. Join me on "Digging in the Dirt", my guest is Rhonda Sherman. Rhonda is a soild waste specialist in the Department of Horticultural Science at NC State University, She is considered one of the leading authorities on vermicomposting . She was formerly a member of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Composting Council and a contributing editor to BioCycle Journal of Composting and Organics Recycling.
Rhonda has a two?acre Compost Learning Lab at The Lake Wheeler Road Field Laboratory. The Compost Learning Lab has, among other things, a 40?ft by 30?ft building (Worm Barn). To say Rhonda knows a lot about worm poop, would be an understatement. WORMS, on "Digging in the Dirt" on Listener supported WPKN 89.5fmWPKN.org.
