Episode: Mic Check
Mike Merli interviews Mikaela Adams of the Justice for Jayson movement.
On May 9, 2017, 15 year-old Jayson Negron was murdered by Bridgeport Police Officer James Boulay. After Jayson's murder, his family and friends started a movement to fight for justice. The Justice for Jayson movement has been fighting for justice consistently for the past three years, not just for Jayson but for all victims of Bridgeport police violence, including Corbin Cooper, who was 18 years old when he was murdered by Bridgeport Police on June 14, 2018.
For the past week, the Justice for Jayson movement occupied the street in front of the Bridgeport Police Station, demanding long overdue change in Bridgeport.
Mikaela Adams was one of the organizers of the occupation.
