WPKN Archives: Ed Flynn

Host profile: Ed Flynn

Ed has been in (mostly non-commercial) broadcasting since 1982 and joined WPKN in 1992.

He is currently hosting "Ed's Rock n Roll Hootenanny" on the 2nd & 5th Thursday nights at 11:30PM-3AM, a mix of loud, rowdy rock n roll, 70's hard rock, rebel rousing country and Irish drinking songs; peppered with politically-incorrect, irreverent commentary.

His format has changed many times over the years, from bop, fusion and avant-garde jazz to improvisation, ambient/dub, NYC's "Downtown" scene and all sorts of sonic weirdness.

The metamorphosis of Ed's shows on WPKN usually reflect what he is practicing as a musician at the time.

"Ed's Rock n Roll Hootenanny" is the jukebox in the barroom with sawdust on the floor.
