Over the past year, I’ve been doing occasional shows devoted to a single year of music—drawing only from what I already have in my collection. Since most of my regular shows lean toward newer releases, it’s been a real pleasure to revisit earlier favorites and hear them in a new light.

This April 8 program focused on 2022—a year when we were just beginning to emerge from the long stretch of pandemic restrictions. I had to prerecord the show because of a scheduling conflict. That day brought one of those surreal, high-tension news cycles: the Orange King had given Iran 24 hours to comply with his demands or face total annihilation. 

In the end, it was another Taco Tuesday. The deadline came and went, and Iranian civilization survived.
