Episode: Harry Minot
First, my reading of F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1922 novella "The Diamond As Big As The Ritz". Then I tell the story of my time as a Customer Service Representative working under the alias "Arthur Bliss", followed by music created by the "real" Arthur Bliss. Then a Norman Corwin radio play from the WW2 era which told the story of a black sailor who gave his life (illuminated by music provided by Josh White, Marylou Wiiliams, and other luminaries). Finally, a statement by Bernard Baruch of his personal beliefs. A program full of antiquity and allegory.
