Episode: Solidarity with Garnett Ankle (fill-in for Rockers Arena with the Night Nurse)

Garnett Ankle sits in for the Night Nurse and her Rockers Arena show this morning. On the show, Garnett pays a musical tribute to the life and music of Frederic Nathaniel "Toots" Hibbert who sadly passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020. The reggae pioneer whom was called the Ska Father saw the music through several sub-genres from ska, to rocksteady to reggae was the first person to use the word reggae in a song with his 1968 tune DO The Reggay. The word reggae had a "y" at the end instead of an "e."

During the show, Garnett speaks with David Hinds of Steel Pulse Reggae Band for his reflections on the life and music of Toots Hibbert.

Solidarity News, and the other usual features are aired on the three hours long musical tribute to toots Hibbert.

Condolences to the family and friends of Toots on his untimely passing. May his soul rest in peace.
