Episode: Paa Kow, Ghanaian drummer, in conversation with Valerie Richardson

I had the opportunity to interview Paa Kow, a really cool drummer and band leader from Ghana (although now living in Colorado). He grew up in a musical family and started playing professionally at a young age. When a visiting musician from Colorado was in Ghana searching for someone to teach him drumming, he was introduced to Paa Kow who was later recruited to come back to Colorado as a guest artist at the University of Colorado.

Paa Kow continues to expand his career, now leading a large band, touring, and having put out two CDs.

The interview segment begins and ends with music from his most recent CD "Ask."

By the way, his manager explained to me that ihs name "Paa Kow" is pronounced to rhyme with "Taco." Just in case you were wondering.
