Mic Check takes its name from the 2011 Occupy Wall Street movement which used the 'human microphone' to amplify the voices of demonstrators in the street. In the same way we try to amplify voices and issues to and from our listening community." My name is Joseph Celli and I’m filling in for Richard Hill for today’s Mic Check with a very special guest Matthew Shipp who will be performing in CT at Firehouse 12 on Friday May 24th. I was told that Mattew was interviewed here on WPKN by our long-time host Ed Flynn in the early 1990’s.
