1) Robert Harry Socolow, a theoretical physicist and professor emeritus of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University, discusses the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists' "Doomsday Clock" being moved forward to 90 seconds to midnight, due the ongoing war in Ukraine, the increased risk of nuclear escalation, climate change and other dangerous world events.

2) Francesca Emanuele, a Peruvian sociologist and a doctoral student in Anthropology at American University in Washington, D.C. and a Council on Hemispheric Affairs board member, discusses her views on the current political crisis and rising political violence in Peru covered in her recent article, "Overthrow of President Castillo Exposes the Race and Class Divide in Peru."

3) Bradley Onishi, a former White Christian nationalist, now a scholar of religion, talks about his new book, "Preparing for War: The Extremist History of White Christian Nationalism—and What Comes Next," that brings an insider’s view and a scholarly perspective on the long road to Donald Trump's January 6th failed coup attempt, and beyond.

4) John Levin Southern Connecticut Darwin Day Chairman talks about his group's upcoming 15th Annual Darwin Day Dinner on Feb. 6th in Westport -- and previews the presentation by keynote speaker Vanessa Ezenwa, Yale University Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, who will discuss the study of concurrent infection and how this perspective is providing new insight into the spread and impact of infectious diseases.
