Episode: 01.29.18: Counterpoint host Scott Harris discusses Rising global inequality; Trump re-negotiation of NAFTA treaty; CT prosecutors report on police shooting of 15-year old Jayson Negron; Future of President's Commission on alleged voter fraud

Counterpoint, hosted by Scott Harris, is heard every Monday night on WPKN 89.5 FM, Bridgeport, CT between 8:00 - 10:00 pm ET. Webstreaming and audio archive at http://wpkn.org

1) Paul O'Brien, Vice President for Policy and Advocacy with Oxfam America discusses Oxfam's recent report, "Reward Work, Not Wealth," the drivers of growing inequality in global wealth, its consequences and viable methods to reverse this corrosive disparity.

2) Melinda St. Louis, Director of International Campaigns assesses the major issues in current negotiations initiated by President Trump over the future of NAFTA between the U.S., Mexico and Canada, and how the outcome may impact working families here in the U.S.

3) Orisha Ala Nzambi Ochumare of the group 'Justice for Jayson,' discusses the results of an investigation by a CT state prosecutor who found that Bridgeport Police Officer James Boulay was justified in using deadly force when he shot 15-year-old Jayson Negron on May 9th, when police stopped Negron who was driving a stolen car in downtown Bridgeport.

4) Investigative reporter Greg Palast, the author of several New York Times bestsellers including,"The Best Democracy Money Can Buy," now an award winning documentary film, talks about his investigation into the disbanding Donald Trump's Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity. As Greg reports, the commission, which was chaired by Vice President Mike Pence and whose vice chair was Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, was “handed off” to the Department of Homeland Security.
