Episode: 04.01.19: Counterpoint host Scott Harris discusses Trump legal effort to rule ObamaCare unconstitutional; 40th anniversary of the Three Mile Island nuclear accident; Holding ExxonMobil accountable for climate change denial & CT climate change legislation

Counterpoint, hosted by Scott Harris, is heard every Monday night on WPKN 89.5 FM, Bridgeport, CT between 8:00 - 10:00 pm ET. Webstreaming and audio archive at http://wpkn.org

1) Dr. Ed Weisbart, Chair of the Missouri chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program, discusses the Trump administration's current support for a federal lawsuit to overturn the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) in its entirety -- with a focus on the long range solution to address the U.S. healthcare crisis, establishing a universal health care program, such as Medicare for All.

2) Tim Judson, Executive Director with the Nuclear Information and Resource Service reflects on the 40th anniversary of the Three Mile Island, Pennsylvania nuclear accident, the current state of the nuclear industry, energy alternatives overtaking nuclear power - and a brief update on the status of the ongoing nuclear power plant disaster at Fukushima, Japan.

3) Scott Edwards, director of legal advocacy with Food and Water Watch, talks about his group's current campaign: "#ExxonKnew Is Getting the Scrutiny It Deserves in Europe. Now It's Time for Congress to Act," which is seeking accountability for the oil giant's complicity in suppressing its decades-long scientific knowledge that carbon emissions from the burning of fossil fuels contributes to global warming.

4) John Humphries, Executive Director/Lead Organizer with the Connecticut Roundtable on Climate and Jobs talks about his group's upcoming local events: 1) Climate Change: Exploring the Intersection of Racial, Economic and Environmental Justice, April 8th in Glastonbury, CT; 2) Stand Up for Climate Action and Energy Equity! April 14th at the State Capitol, Hartford. John will also discuss initiatives CRCJ is working on in the state legislature with new progressive Reps, Senators and Governor Ned Lamont.
