1) Ben Norton, a freelance journalist and writer discusses his recent article published in FAIR's Counterspin magazine, "Media and Nuclear Deal Opponents Continue to Spread Debunked Myth Iran Will Monitor Itself," and the overall quality of media coverage of the national debate over the international nuclear agreement with Iran.
2) Costas Panayotakis, professor of Sociology at New York City College of Technology, assesses Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' call for new national elections on September 20th, his motivation for a new vote and the future for the Greek economy under continuing EU-imposed economic austerity measures.
3) Norman Solomon, political activist, columnist and author of the book, “War Made Easy, How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning us to Death,” talks about the RootsAction.org petition urging presidential candidate Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders to challenge the "Madness of Militarism," and the potential of his progressive campaign to trigger a more focused national debate on U.S. foreign policy and our country's use of military force.
4) John Bell, Director of the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry, Associate Professor of Puppetry at the University of Connecticut and co-editor of "The Routledge Companion to Puppetry and Material Performance." He'll discuss the current exhibit "Speak Up! Speak Out! Bread & Puppet Theater," at UConn's William Benton Museum of Art, exploring the history of the group's activist art, and what museum visitors will discover at the exhibition.
