Episode: Spontaneous Connections: Last Show From The Old Studios with new and vintage music

Nov 5, 2021 episode of Connections on WPKN with Eric Cocks. It’s spontaneous! It’s non-linear! It’s also the last show from the old WPKN studios, where the station has been for nearly 60 years, as we prepare to move to brand new facilities in Downtown Bridgeport, CT!

Heavily improvised, this show includes new and vintage music from The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Bo Diddley, The Kinks, Warren Zevon, Elliott Randall, David Bowie, Daniel Lanois, Paul McCartney, Todd Rundgren, Jenny O., Bobby Darin, David Lindley, The Rascals and more.

Also new music by Elvis Costello & The Imposters, ABBA, Tori Amos, Wet Leg, Patrick Gleeson, Snail Mail, The Regrettes, Sunflower Bean, Lizzie & The Makers, The Squeaky Chairs, The Secret Meanings and whatever happened in the moment.

Great thanks to anyone who has ever tuned in and enjoyed these shows from the old location, with special thanks to a number of guests who joined me for very relaxed, informal, conversational interviews (sometimes with live performances) including Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, Oscar winning composer Alan Menken, Peppy Castro of The Blues Magoos and Barnaby Bye, Brilliant singer and songwriter Sam Phillips, legendary producer Tony Visconti, Rod Argent of The Zombies, Tommy James, Felix Cavaliere of The Rascals, Hilton Valentine of The Animals, legendary bass player and guitar player Carol Kaye, brilliant musician, songwriter, engineer and producer Steve Addabbo, Richard Barone, Emily Duff, engineer/producer Craig Bishop, Pj Pacifico, Kid Ginseng and many more.

Thanks for tuning in!!

The next show with be from the new location on November 19th!

We’re all very excited!!

It’s more fun than the news!!!
