1) Greg Grandin, Peter V. and C. Vann Woodward Professor of History at Yale University and author of “The End of the Myth,” winner of the 2020 Pulitzer Prize, and "Kissinger's Shadow: The Long Reach of America's Most Controversial Statesman," joins Peter Kornbluh, Director of the National Security Archives' Cuba and Chile Documentation Projects, and author of many books on Latin America including, "The Pinochet File: A Declassified Dossier on Atrocity and Accountability," to discuss the controversial career of Henry Kissinger, the late US secretary of state and national security advisor under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford between 1969 and 1977.
2) Alex Lawson, Executive Director of Social Security Works, the convening member of the Strengthen Social Security Coalition, discusses the letter to Congress recently signed by more than 100 groups opposing the creation of a "fiscal commission" in the House of Representatives that many observers believe will be used by the House Republican majority to implement cuts to Social Security and Medicare benefits.
3) Trita Parsi, Executive Vice President Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft talks about his recent article, "The Ultimate Cost of Biden’s Refusal to Call for a Full Cease-fire in Gaza," and efforts now underway by the world community to push for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and stop the slaughter of Palestinian civilians.
4) Jeff Ordower, 350.org's North America Director, discusses his group's recently published report, "Power Up for Climate Justice: Financing and Implementing a 1.5°C – Aligned Global Renewables Target," as international representatives meet at the United Nations' COP 28 UN Climate Summit meeting in Dubai.
