Episode: Connections: George Harrison 50th Anniversary All Things Must Pass Box Set plus new and vintage music

August 6, 2021 episode of Connections on WPKN with Eric Cocks. It’s spontaneous! It’s non-linear!! Includes a deep exploration of the newly released 50th Anniversary box set of All Things Must Pass, by George Harrison.

Plus new and vintage music including Bob Dylan, a brief celebration of the 55th anniversary of The Beatles Revolver, The Rolling Stones, Sam Phillips, Bill Withers, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, The Bar-Kays, Liz Phair, Bobby Darin and more.

Also new releases by Prince, Jackson Browne, Los Lobos, Bruce Sudano, The Beach Boys, Wet Leg, Larissa Tandy, Beabadoobie, Marvin Etzioni, Bachelor Jay Som & Palehound, The Squeaky Chairs, Nikita and The Crew Chefs, The Empty Handed Painters and whatever happened in the moment.

50 years later, the newly released box set of All Things Must Pass is a joy to explore. The original album has been remixed with care and respect, revealing elements that had been buried in the original mix, while also featuring vocals with added clarity. The previously unreleased demos, including 15 recorded on the first day of the sessions are fantastic, telling everything you need to know about the songs. Some of these songs have never been released before. Ringo’s drumming on the demos is brilliant!

The George Harrison sections start the show and then come back again later, while going to new and vintage music in between.

There may be future explorations of All Things Must Pass in future episodes of Connections.

Thanks for tuning in!!!
