1) Eric Kingson is a professor of social work at Syracuse University, co-founder of the group Social Security Works and co-chair the Strengthen Social Security Coalition. Kingson, co-author along with Nancy Altman of the new book, "Social Security Works!" and curently a candidate for Congress in New York's 24th Congressional District, discusses the current debate in Congress over adjustments necessary to ensure that the Social Security disability fund won't be forced to make major benefit cuts to 11 million disabled workers in 2016.

2) Matthew Hoh, Senior Fellow at the Center for International Policy assesses the current situation in Afghanistan, including the reported death of Taliban leader Mullah Omar, internal discord among Taliban ranks over the succession process, the future of peace negotiations and the role of the U.S., Pakistan and other regional powers.

3) Abby Scher, Associate Fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies talks about worker coops, labor unions and cities: how new thinking Is building economic power from the ground up and new developments in the labor movement's involvement in the growth of cooperative model enterprises across the U.S.

4) Ben Martin, Web Coordinator with the group 350 Connecticut.org, discusses the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission scoping process that is gathering input from the public for an environmental impact statement related to the Northeast Energy Direct Project, which involves construction and operation of new piplelines by the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company to be built in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
