1) Ann Jones, is an independent scholar, a journalist and currently an associate of the Charles Warren Center for Studies in American History an Harvard University. She is the author of ten books of nonfiction, including, "Kabul in Winter," and most recently,"They Were Soldiers: How the Wounded Return from America's Wars: The Untold Story." She'll share her views on the massacre in Paris claimed by ISIS -- and discuss her important recent article, "Afghanistan After the American War," and the policy options ahead re: Afghanistan for the Obama administration.

2) Mat dos Santos, Legal Director with the ACLU of Oregon talks about the recent revelation that the Criminal Justice Division of the Oregon Department of Justice has secretly surveilled Oregonians who use the Black Lives Matter hashtag, and the wider issue of political surveillance conducted by government agencies.

3) Vijay Prashad, is the George and Martha Kellner Chair in South Asian History and Professor of International Studies at
Trinity College, Hartford, CT -- and author of 17 books, including: "Land of Blue Helmets: The UN in the Arab World," edited with Karim Makdisi and "The Darker Nations: A People's History of the Third World." Prof. Prashad discuss the context for understanding the terrorist attack in Paris, and the policy options to diminish further cycles of violence.

4) Deirdre Shelly a member of the group Our Generation Our Choice discusses her group's recent multi-issue protest in Washington, D.C. demanding justice on race, climate and immigration -- and the future potential of building multi-issue coalitions addressing public policy issues not being addressed by Congress.
