Episode: 10.03.16: Counterpoint host Scott Harris discusses Gary Johnson's libertarian ideology and funding; masculinity in the presidential election; Post-impeachment politics in Brazil & Colombian voters reject proposed peace agreement

Counterpoint, hosted by Scott Harris, is heard every Monday night on WPKN 89.5 FM, Bridgeport, CT between 8:00 - 10:00 pm ET. Webstreaming and audio archive at http://wpkn.org

1) Adele M. Stan, Senior Washington Editor with Alternet.org, talks about her recent article, "Meet Gary Johnson's Koch-Network Money Men." Stan's piece uncovers important information that should be in the hands of many young people who have been attracted to support Libertarian Party presidential candidate Gary Johnson.

2) Jackson Katz, an educator, author, filmmaker and cultural theorist who is internationally renowned for his pioneering scholarship and activism on issues of gender and violence discusses the 2016 presidential election campaign and the observations featured in his new book, "Man Enough? Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump and the Politics of Presidential Masculinity."

3) Alex Main, senior associate on international policy with the Center for Economic and Policy Research, discusses the U.S. relationship with Brazil's post-impeachment government, which took power after the removal of Workers Party President Dilma Rousseff -- and Washington's current support for austerity economic policies in Latin America's largest nation.

4) Chris Knestrick, a project support coordinator with Christian Peacemakers’ Colombia Team and Ben Brazil, director of the Ministry of Writing program at the Earlham School of Religion, who leads student trips to Colombia in partnership with Christian Peacemaker Teams, talk about the consequences of Colombian voters rejection, by a narrow margin, of a proposed peace agreement between the government in Bogotá and leftist FARC guerillas that would have ended more than 50 years of war. Chris and Ben recently wrote the article, "In Colombia, the real work of peacebuilding begins now," for the online publication WagingNonviolence.org
