1) Norman Solomon, journalist, media critic, activist and co-founder & coordinator of the online organization RootsAction.org, Author of "War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death," Norman discusses the aftermath of the recent U.S. military strike in Syria in response to the alleged Syrian government chemical attack on civilians there. He'll also address the dangers of an escalation of the conflict, possible direct confrontation with Russia, more constructive methods to prevent the illegal use of chemical weapons and negotiate an end to the Syrian war.
2) Alex Lawson, Executive Director of Social Security Works, discusses House Speaker Paul Ryan's announced departure from Congress, his long running goal to "reform" - cut - Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid programs - and the ongoing effort by President Trump and the Republican Party to raise the eligibility age, reduce benefits and institute "Chained CPI," for the nation's social safety net programs.
3) Kevin Zeese, a public interest attorney, co-director of PopularResistance.org and It’s Our Economy, an organization that advocates for democratizing the economy, talks about his recent article, co-written with Dr. Margaret Flower's, titled, "The Role of Youth in the Coming Transformation," and the launch on his Popular Resistance School on May 1st. He'll examine how this moment of youth activism is an important opportunity to connect the dots on a wide range of important issues that relate back to America's failing economic and political system.
4) Chuck Rosina, a long time public affairs and news producer at WMBR FM, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's radio station, talks about the MIT Day of Action on April 17th, where "members of the MIT and broader local community will pause everyday activities and devote the day to engaging with the political, economic, environmental, and social challenges facing us today — through learning, discussion, reflection, and planning for action.”
