Episode: 06.03.19: Counterpoint host Scott Harris discusses Trump administration lies re 2020 Census citizenship question; Why Mueller must testify before Congress; Trump's new Mexico tariffs, NAFTA 2.0; Reviving the U.S. peace movement

Counterpoint, hosted by Scott Harris, is heard every Monday night on WPKN 89.5 FM, Bridgeport, CT between 8:00 - 10:00 pm ET. Webstreaming and audio archive at http://wpkn.org

1) Dan Vicuna National Redistricting Manager with Common Cause, discusses new evidence, discovered in a Common Cause gerrymandering case, which reveals a Republican party plot to add the "citizenship question" in the 2020 Census, in order to gain GOP and white demographic redistricting advantage.

2) Marge Baker, Executive Vice President with People for the American Way talks about her group's position that former special counsel Robert Mueller should testify before Congress re: his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election, and Mr. Trump's attempt to obstruct that investigation. PFAW believes that Mueller should testify to counter the disinformation campaign coming from President Trump and his Attorney General William Barr. She'll also examine the way forward on impeachment.

3) Douglas Sutherland, Chair of the Fairfield County, CT chapter of Democracy for America and manager of the Connecticut Fair Trade Coalition, assesses the latest threat from President Trump to impose a 5% tariff on Mexican imports to pressure the Mexican government to stop the surge of Central American immigrants trying to cross the U.S. border. He'll also update listeners on the NAFTA 2.0 ratification process going forward in Congress.

4) Henry Lowendorf, co-chair of the Greater New Haven Peace Council discusses the upcoming June 7th anti-war protest at New Haven's City Hall, the ongoing U.S. wars around the world, and the danger of new conflicts breaking out on multiple fronts.
