1) Kevin Alexander Gray, a lifelong social justice activist, was Jesse Jackson’s South Carolina campaign manager in 1988 and author of "Waiting for Lightning to Strike: The Fundamentals of Black Politics," and co-editor of the book, "Killing Trayvons: An Anthology of American Violence." He'll discuss the sustained and massive protests against police violence and institutional racism -- and take a critical look at the effort now underway in Congress to pass legislation addressing systemic racism in law enforcement and police accountability.
2) Dr. Rob Davidson, Executive Director of the Committee to Protect Medicare, assesses the cause of the alarming increase of the coronavirus pandemic across the U.S., examines the Trump administration's culpability for the failed federal response, and what can be done now to slow the spread of the virus and save lives.
3) Ellen Brown, founder and chairwoman of the Public Banking Institute, and author of 12 books including, "Web of Debt," talks about her recent article, "Meet BlackRock, the New Great Vampire Squid," and will also touch on her ongoing advocacy of public banking, with a look to opportunities after the November 2020 presidential and Congressional election.
4) Nick Brana, founder of Movement for a People's Party, former National Political Outreach Coordinator with Bernie Sanders' 2016 presidential campaign and former Electoral Manager with Our Revolution, discusses the goals of the Movement for a People's Party, and recent progress in attracting new supporters to build a coalition of working people, unions, and progressive groups for a nationally viable people’s party.
